The reason we chose Midwest Paint & Body to repaint our 79 Camaro was the high quality of work, and their knowledge of classic cars. I toured other shops and theirs was by far the cleanest. I would highly recommend anyone that wants high quality professional work done, to go to Midwest Paint & Body.

A complete job well done, my mom saw the car in the garage and thought it was a new car because it was so shiny!

When I was considering body shops to take my original-owner 1969 SS396 Chevelle to for a frame off restoration, I talked to several people, looked at a variety of finished products, and visited several body shops in consideration.
It did not take long in my research process before I began to narrow my focus to Midwest Paint and Body in Hull, Iowa. Their shop had been recommended very early on, as a close friend had his 1968 Z28 Camaro painted at Midwest Paint and Body some years ago. I was also able to view two other vehicles which had been restored by Midwest very recently, and found that the quality of the paint and body work on each of these vehicles was exceptional!
Upon visiting several different body shops, one stop at Midwest Paint and Body explained it all. This was easily the most modern and certainly the cleanest body shop which I've ever seen! Many other shops seem to have varying amounts of clutter, dust, and disarray to them, but not at Midwest; this place is spotless throughout! Lyle and Arlan also took the time to visit with me at length, introduce me to all of the crew, and sit down with me and the entire staff to visit about my project. The customer service here is second to none.
We did a full "frame-off" restoration on my Chevelle including the bottom of the body pan, trunk interior, full new rear quarters, etc. Lyle and Arlan gave me updates throughout the project and consulted with me on unexpected issues as they arose. Where necessary, they gave me options to consider on how to address some of the "unknowns". The finished product matched my highest expectations; the fit and finish is superb throughout. In addition to all of this, the car was in and out of the shop ahead of projections; once again, great service.
Several members of the local car show and street machine crowd have seen the car already and it's getting rave reviews everywhere it goes. I couldn't be happier with the final result!

Although I live in Boise, Idaho, I really never considered bringing my 1967 Camaro convertible restoration anywhere else. Arlan Bonestroo is a lifetime acquaintance of mine and I have seen numerous examples of his restoration handy work. Along with his partner, Lyle Van Voorst, the company represents the small, honest and cooperative business work ethic that has been their mantra for many years. They were very willing to work with me on all aspects of the restoration including used vs. new and after market parts, paint color and interior options. I am very pleased with the final outcome of the restoration and feel that the finished product reflects the quality and professionalism consistently generated by this company.
